If you don't know what a Sciot is, you're in the right place to find out. Although this page is to primarily to tell you about Pyramid Number 9 of the Ancient Egyptian Order of Sciots, it will also give you information on who the Sciots are and what the order represents. We meet on the first Friday of every month at the Los Gatos Masonic Temple. We have a potluck at 7:00 PM (open to all) and a meeting at 8:00 PM (open to Sciots). The ladies usually stay after the potluck to visit, play cards, or help out the young ladies of San Jose Rainbow Assembly (click for picture) who are often there working on one of their service projects.

We are proud to be the sponsoring body for San Jose Rainbow Assembly No. 5 and if you would like to learn more about Rainbow, please visit their Web Site.

So where did Sciotry come from??? Well, back in 1905 a group of Masons got together at Mission Masonic Temple in the city of San Francisco to form a social club. The idea was to get together free from the restraint of the Lodge Room to pursue Masonic teachings and to put those principles to use in their everyday business affairs.

It was an immediate success because it filled a need that couldn't be filled anywhere else. It brought brethren together in their everyday lives allowing them to apply the true spirit of the fraternity using the slogan Boost One Another. The following moral values were also committed to:

Our neighbor's assistance and cooperation in your business affairs;

The strong grip of a friend to help you over the rough places in life;

A kind word spoken in your behalf or your defense;

A watchful care over your brethren in their journey through life;

And a full measure of innocent amusement;

Is worth many times more to you while living, than the most beautiful requiem, over the most unctuous sermon, or the most elaborate pyramid over your remains when you are dead.
